Everything you have recorded so far feeds two read-only views. Neither asks you to enter anything. They exist to be read.

Net Worth

One number, built from two columns. On the assets side sit Cash & Accounts, Owed to You (Receivables), Savings, Prepaid, Assets Owned and Change Credit. On the liabilities side sit Money Borrowed, Credit Purchases, Subscriptions and Pledges.

Read those two lists against this course and the point of every page becomes obvious. Loans you made land in Owed to You. Prepayments land in Prepaid. Credit purchases and pledges are liabilities. Anything you skipped recording is simply missing from your total, which is the honest argument for keeping these pages current.

The page also shows the month-over-month change. That figure is more useful than the total. The absolute number depends heavily on what you happen to own; the direction of travel depends on how you have been behaving, and that is the part you can act on.

Reports

Reports covers a period rather than a moment. Pick a range using a preset such as This Month, and you get total income, total expenses, net balance, transaction count, expenses by category and a budget summary.

You can also exclude sources here. This is worth knowing about: if a particular source is skewing a view, you can take it out and read the rest, rather than accepting a distorted picture.

Download Statement becomes available only when a single wallet is selected. That is intentional — a statement covering several wallets with different currencies would not be a statement of anything. Select one wallet, then download.

Sharing through wallets

A wallet is a container with its own currency and its own members, shared by invitation. Members hold one of three roles: owner, editor or viewer. A viewer can read but cannot create anything, which makes it the right role for someone who needs oversight rather than involvement.

One rule catches people out: a wallet's currency can only be changed while it is still empty. Once transactions exist, it is fixed. Set the currency deliberately when you create the wallet, because the only remedy afterwards is a new wallet.
