Read your Overview at a glance

Work Analytics lives in the Work Center under Reports. It is built from work you have already done, so there is nothing to set up. Everything you see is a by-product of your tasks, goals and timers.

Before anything else, one thing about tone. These numbers are for noticing patterns, not for marking yourself. A bad week in a chart is information, not a verdict. The useful question is never is this number good, it is what changed, and do I want it to stay changed.

The five cards

• Active Goals — how many goals are currently running. If this climbs and nothing ever completes, you are opening goals faster than you are closing them.
• Tasks Completed — finished work in the period you have selected.
• Overdue Tasks — marked Past due date. A steadily rising figure usually means dates are being set optimistically, not that anyone is slacking.
• Time Tracked — hours captured by timers and manual entries. Untracked work is invisible here, so a low figure may only mean you forgot to start the clock.
• Earnings Multiplier — shown against a reference of Baseline (×1.000). Baseline is normal. Above it means the period was stronger than your usual; below it means quieter.

The productivity rating

Alongside the cards there is a productivity score with a rating band: Excellent, On Track, Needs Work or Off Track. Open the score detail to see how it was worked out rather than guessing. Most individual metrics also have their own information button that explains what feeds them.

Read the band as a direction of travel across several periods. A single period sitting in Needs Work after a fortnight of leave tells you nothing you did not already know.
