What you can do with a single message

Most of the value in Hitaji Chat is hidden behind one gesture: hover a message. Four actions appear directly — React, Reply in thread, Remind me and a More menu.

The three you will use most

React is the cheapest reply there is. An acknowledgement that costs nobody a notification-worth of attention is usually better than typing "noted".

Reply in thread keeps a side discussion out of the main flow. In a busy group this is the difference between a readable conversation and a scroll.

Remind me nudges you about that message later. Nobody else sees it, and the other person is not told. Use it freely — it is the right answer to "I cannot deal with this until Thursday".

The More menu

Inside More you get Copy message, Forward, Reply privately, Pin or Unpin, Edit and Delete — plus the four that turn a message into real work: Create task, Create event, Create appointment and Create meeting.

Those four matter more than they look. A decision made in chat that nobody writes down is a decision that gets remade next week. Creating the task from the message keeps the wording and the context together.

The 30-minute window

You can Edit or Delete your own messages for 30 minutes after sending. Not other people’s messages, and not your own after that half hour has passed.

This is deliberate. Chat is a record of what was said, and a record that can be rewritten weeks later is not a record. So fix your typo now, not tomorrow. An edited message is visibly marked as edited, so nobody is ever misled about what changed.

The one exception is your notes to self, which have no time limit — they are yours alone, so there is nothing to protect.
