Attachments, scheduling and calls

The composer row is easy to skim past. It holds Attach file, Voice note, Emoji, a screen-record button, a compose-mode toggle, and Send a GIF if your workspace has it configured.

Twelve attachments, and no storage cost

A single message takes a maximum of 12 attachments. A counter shows how you are doing — N/12 files. If you have more than that, send them across two messages, or share a folder instead.

Worth knowing: chat attachments do not count towards your personal storage. Sharing a file in a conversation costs you nothing, so there is no reason to compress a document before sending it to someone.

A voice note is often faster and warmer than three paragraphs, and a screen recording answers "how do I do this?" better than any written instruction.

Sending later, and reminding yourself

The scheduling popover has two tabs. Send Later holds your message and delivers it at the time you choose — useful when you are working late and would rather not land in somebody’s evening. Remind Me is the opposite: it states plainly that Only you will see this — not sent to the group. There is also a Send immediately escape if you change your mind.

Calls

Calls are built in. The Call button in the conversation header starts an audio call; if you turn your camera on once you are in, it becomes a video call. There is no separate video button to hunt for.

In a group or channel you are asked Who do you want to call?, and you can pick a maximum of 4 people. For anything larger, schedule a meeting instead — Schedule meeting is right there in the same header.

The rest of the header is worth learning too: Search in conversation, Media, files & links, Pinned messages, Scheduled messages and View members. When somebody says "you sent me that file at some point", Media, files & links is the fastest way to find it.
