The earnings score sits on the Earnings tab of your reports and reads the period through the value of the work, rather than through how much of it got finished.

It is a deliberately different formula from the productivity score on the Overview tab. The two measure different things and are not expected to agree — a gap between them is normal, there is nothing to fix, and no setting to change.

So read each against its own history rather than against the other. Two numbers that disagree are telling you two things; averaging them in your head tells you nothing.
