What is a budget?

A budget is a cap you set on one category for one month — for example 300,000 on transport for March.

What makes it useful here is that Hitaji tracks your pace, not just the total. Half way through the month, having spent half your cap is fine; having spent 80% of it is the warning, and you get it while there is still a month left to act on it.

A budget is about money you are spending now. Money you are setting aside for a single cost later is a planned expense instead.
